1. Use special hoes to remove old lawn grass and weeds.
2. If resources permit when planting large areas of land, hire a turf cutter.
3. Use an herbicide called Glyphosate (Round Up) to kill old lawn grass and weeds.
4. Dig the area over to loosen the soil, removing any weeds, stones and building material.
5. Rake to a rough level and compact your soil whole area.
6. Level the surface and eliminate drainage problems by making the soil drain away from your house, Roll the area with a roller to compact soil and to level the desired areas.
7. Make sure you bring enough lawn grass for your planting,
8. Do not lay down grass onto dry soil especially in the warmer months.
9. Dampen down the area about 4 — 12 hours before you lay the turf.
